Is it Zane who picked an extra impressive meeting place, or just general Raharr architecture, I wonder. That's a pressurized corridor sitting in the vacuum of the docking bay - building and maintaining it with that many glass(?) panes, much less angulated ones, ought to be a nightmare for human engineers.

Well, constantly de- and re-pressurizing the entire docking bay would be just wasteful.

It's glass panels in a sense that they're transparent, but they're not just plain sheets of silica, obviously ^^

Well, yes, of course. There wouldn't be a separate corridor if they'd routinely pressurize the entire bay. [Imperial March starts playing]

They are wearing interesting jackets. With zippers? Business-Spacesuits?

They look like business suit themed wetsuits.

If they are business-spacesuits, they seem to be lacking a collar sealing ring.

Businessmen in space do not expect to encounter hard vacuum, only microgravity. Floating coattails would look ridiculous and are to be avoided. The tie must be tucked in for similar reasons.

I can see the Chinese representative, in particular, sticking to your advice. Because bun ...

One of these "gentlemen" is a "lady."

Should we assume these are all heads of state, or would some governments avoid the risk of sending their heads of state into orbit, no matter how easy it is for the Alliance? Also, it looks like there are only three guests in this visit, representing the two largest economies in the world, and Protagonistan. Is Zane really not picking favorites? Maybe there's more people still coming off the shuttle, and these three were just the ones in front?

"Gentlesentients" is the appropriate form of address here. "Gentlebeings" would still be okay, but "Gentleentities" would be too much.

Hello there ... Montenegro?

Three representatives with ties, three guys without - their adjutants-slash-bodyguards, I guess. I'm pretty sure that those shuttles could seat more (see the interior views of the shot-down one), so I trust that humanity couldn't quite agree on central boarding procedures. They apparently did get a dress code hashed out, though ...

I think that's the protagonistani flag on the El Presidente of protagonistan.

Ah .... yes, I suppose so. Though the circle IMHO should be more reddish, rather than yellow, if(!) the small badge is a to scale representation of their flag ...

While the Raharr and other aliens have nanobots to protect them and prevent their own pathogens from spreading I guess they might be worried for their food and plant life being exposed to Earth microbes.

"I have never felt cleaner..."

yes, those rotating little brushes and high-pressure hoses gets in everywhere =)

But contamination both ways will be a massive issue and , I think , only solvable if the present Terrans had a nano-tech injection like the crashed Raharr
