Often scar stories are a lot less impressive than people think.
So i have been thinking....(due to the long hiatus here, that happens or maybe its the repressive heat and moisture that´s been messing with my brain) :

How did you GET that scar? Not "got" that scar, "looking menacing" can be passed off as an artifact of alien to human translation I suppose.

Water is actually amazing for heat transfer. It's abundant, has a high heat capacity, is non-toxic and easy to work with. Okay, dry steam can result in some nasty burns, but molten salts would be so much worse...
Actually, those steam-laden pipes were the cruiser's top secret capital gun.
