"Thank you for choosing Raharran Alliance Airlines. Have a great day."
"Please do not remove your vacuum suit's shoes as you leave our spacecraft through the emergency exits!"
For your own safety and increased chances of survival remain seated hunched over, behind the back of a female clutching a small child until crashlanding is complete.
The Humans had the right idea, hide under the table immediately.
Funny to see that all the Alliance members with their wildly different "biologies" - from Zane to Quantum to the Azinarsi - have been cold out for roughly the same time, while the humans stayed awake (and apparently remembered their earthquake drills well). I can practically hear the 50-years-into-the-future human spacecraft mechanic sneer "grav-shock dampeners? We don't need no stinkin' dampeners!"
They're obviously not in microgravity, so this meeting room is someplace within the habitat cylinder (rather than near the dedicated antenna), right? The very "compromised" one? Let's see how well a Raharr rescue vacuum suit fits a human, then. Unless the Alliance has balls like NASA, of course ...
"Duck and cover - lala-lala-laaaa" has not been
hammered into innocent children's heads for no reason it seems.
Weeeeeell, the original Bert and his tune are a bit USA-, nuclear attack-, and Cold-War-centric to have haunted the representatives of Protagonistan and China in their childhoods; I'm not aware that any of the more widespread awareness campaigns for natural disasters have ever reused that exact catchphrase.
... though the Dawn has been hit by superior enemy firepower, which makes D&C somewhat on-topic again ...

No particular reason to think it's been very long or that anyone else was unconscious. The Admiral is dead, the digitized being guy is having his suit work its way out from under debris (and certainly wouldn't have been "unconscious"), etc.
