Dan's past looks like it's going to be an interesting story. Will they need more than one pizza? Also, it looks like the topping on that pizza is tomato slices, which is an interesting choice against the pepperoni stereotype. I wonder if somebody doesn't like pepperoni, or if somebody just really likes tomatoes?

The first Earth food that he has eaten was mushrooms, so it's probably a good thing that this isn't mushroom pizza.

I also thought that those were pepperoni slices, those small spicy ones. But yeah, these look like cherry tomato slices.

Backstory time!

And finally a resolution to the pizza plotline.

Not just any story I'd wager

TRAGIC backstory time.

Val has known Dan since childhood so I'm probably expecting something bad from then. He's particularly hateful towards the government so maybe something geared in that direction although government run foster care is about all I can think of.

Honestly it could be as boring as Dan just diving too deep into 4Chan as a young, impressionable lad and reading enough conspiracy nutter stuff until he's convinced himself.

He seemed very adamant though that the Army in particular was the embodiment of all human evils so perhaps he had a run in with some army guys or an abusive relative in the army.

I note that Gharr is the first and only to take a slice ...

(Or are we just seeing the last surviving pizza of several?)

The way I see it: The pizza arrived, Gharr got called from the attic, Gharr & Dan had a chat whilst Val & Mark are listening in, the pizza got cold in the mean time, then Gharr went downstairs to take the first slice of the only pizza. 🧊🍕

The names of every species of the Alliance (besides Insectoids) are words taken directly from their respective native languages that they use to refer to themselves. They all have the same translation:
"a human".
