Latest blog post: How the comic is made (2025-12-26)

Author's comment:

Offworld trucks are a very popular choice in the Alliance colonies and exploration teams for their robustness and high adaptability to a wide range of environments and gravities. They're easily modifiable to act as anything between a simple cargo truck and a sophisticated mobile science lab, can operate via autopilot, and generally don't know what "impassable terrain" means.

Couple random notes:

Last we saw the fleet, they had moved in so as to be in full sight of the Earthlings. There's no way that a bunch of ships has moved away and into a tight formation over the Moon without that being all over the Natives' News Networks. Expect to be expected, gentlemen.

Matter of fact, in the last panel, we see that the shuttle pilots keep the engines running, in spite of the debarkment happening right between the nozzles. They are focused on the possibility of a hasty retreat.

... to the point that they extended the aerodynamic stabilizers on our atmosphere-less Moon ...

Their stabalisers probably contain military electronics and sensors, like like ours do. Deploying them likely increases situational awareness enough to be worth it.

Ah, well, you see, it is... uum... the landing procedure is...

...Ok, I just thought it looks cooler ^^"

Let's say that the avionics do it automatically, and it just happens to demonstrate that the fleet isn't hauling a bajillion variants of shuttles for different atmospheric conditions along.

See the look of the truck, I think that even a brick wall is a "passable terrain" for it, so yeah, I am willing that only a cliff can stop them.

"The Crimson Permanent Assurance" ending springs to mind....

Looks like two scientists in the blue, same as what Gharr was wearing for his journey, and 4 combat personel. Uncertain about the driver/s but possibly another two up front. I can see the seat next to the speaker/commander is empty so likely their spot.

Another vehicle full of raharrs approaches mysterious, possibly-hostile strangers in Sol System. Hopefully it goes better than last time.

Clearly they've never driven in Toronto

They clearly haven't tried to drive one of these things on the road besides my house, more pot-hole than road...

Then you need to put identical tires on your car! Also a ladder in the door.

And..."Simple as that" ? Now we all know how that pans out. They jinxed it!

Don't forget to first choose your base vehicle so as to exceed the size of the potholes ...

No chance parallel-parking that thing in some old Barok-age intercity´s

But let alone fueling it up will ruin most people!

Well, of course you'll be taking shortcuts wherever you can (and YES YOU CAN) ...
