Under the circumstances, it might be better to be more responsive in order to steer first contact toward a desired direction.
I see she's been moved to a bigger cell.
Really seems like they should have professional interrogators as part of the process here, tightly controlling their manner and poise, and as close to unflappable as possible. They are dealing with aliens, and this is not a space for unprofessionalism like what this dumbass just displayed. More frustration is gonna happen until that demeanor cracks, or some translates the boot commands in the VM copies of the alien's computers.
Really not sure what he's unhappy with though. Logically, the longer this (presumably) military approach doesn't work, the more likely a scientist like him gets to try something a little more experimental. And fun.

I tried an experiment once. I decided to see how long I could stare at a brook. (It was at a meditation retreat; such ideas occur.) After a couple of minutes my field of vision was moving like the water. I had to stand up and close my eyes to shake it off ...
