You know, it is fortunate she is part of the alien species more similar to humans seen thus far. Can you imagine if the military got the "I perceive one hour in 100 subjective years" guy?

If there were an invasion planned, none of what happened would make sense. Why suddenly attempt a dangerous escape when you can safely wait for the invasion to arrive? Why send in a single shuttle with no apparent combat value when it's hard to imagine it could be necessary for recon either?

"A species that keeps us from returning to our people deserves to get it's ass kicked" should be simple to grasp. Sir.

Thanks for the beautiful update(s)!!
They're using the Universal Language... which explains a lot and offers a solution!
Of course, it couldn't possibly be that simple. Although it's great to see them trying.

They are using an erasable pen! At least the body does not look like a mechanical pencil?

How do you differentiate between an erasable and regular pen?

With "regular" pens the ink quickly sinks into the paper and becomes permanent. "erasable" pens use a different formula the binds to the paper so slowly, there is a window when it can be scrapped off the paper.

TRIVIA
Before becoming a webcomic, Leaving The Cradle was initially developed as a modification for Source engine, back in 2007. It was vastly different back then, much closer to the usual space opera look and feel, and the plot had nothing in common with the webcomic version, sharing only one character.
