"No, did you hear that?!"
I don't think "No" can be used as an interjection here. I get what you're trying to convey but it doesn't work in English. How about "Did you just hear that?!"

Just the smallest taste of the translation issues which would occur with actual separately-evolved brains and language.

I actually kind of liked the original phrasing. Really conveyed the sudden outburst, like "this is the exact moment where my reserve of silence runs dry". Also, removing it left the start of the sentence uncapitalized.

Before becoming a webcomic, Leaving The Cradle was initially developed as a modification for Source engine, back in 2007. It was vastly different back then, much closer to the usual space opera look and feel, and the plot had nothing in common with the webcomic version, sharing only one character.
