There's a lot of small scenes that pop in my head from time to time, that happen in the setting of Leaving The Cradle, that bear no relation to the main plot of the comic. I wanted to bring them to life, though, and decided to give them a try in form of a illustration with accompanying text. Let's see how this format goes?

A concept for an off-road truck for developing colonies and uncharted planets. Fully electrical, with active suspension controlled by a computer system. Can serve as mobile base of operations or laboratory, a rover, or transfer cargo (in which case back compartment is replaced with a platform). Fully airtight and with it's own life support, so it can operate in vacuum or dangerous atmospheres as well. Can drive and navigate in auto-pilot mode on relatively even ground.

Providing a comfortable eating space with a gorgeous (yet dizzy for those not accustomed to the sight) view on Dawn's inner drum. Most of the inhabitants of the Dawn come here to eat and socialize, with the exception of Ktak members, who find the concept of eating in public to be highly disgusting.

The sphere about 1.5 AU in diameter and vastly outmasses any artificial structure known to exist - including the artifacts of the Ancients - and holds an unquantifiable amount of residents, and it's still in the process of construction. Azinarsi have three of these and despite that it's all they have, they are de-facto the most powerful faction of the galaxy, sans the Ancients. Thankfully the lightspeed lag is too significant an issue to them, so they remain isolationist and uninterested about the world outside of the Spheres.

Virus is a character that isn't scheduled to appear in the comic soon. It's a shame since he's a quite interesting person, if you view him from afar. He's a mercenary for hire, and during to his nature he likes to set up temporary shops in abandoned or rarely visited places, such as the utility spaces that nobody visits more often than once in a couple months.
Any would be unwilling witnesses are also unlikely to be found anytime soon...
